From the blackboard to the whiteboard, our high-quality Middle School curriculum is designed to help each 6th-8th grade student achieve his or her maximum potential. While providing a stimulating and demanding education, students are given a high level of personal sharing and individualized attention.  Students will be enriched academically, socially, emotionally, and physically.  They will also have the opportunity to experience a variety of extracurricular activities.

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School students know the value of homework and are well-prepared academically for any high school they will attend in the future.  Upper grade students (grades 6th-8th) are encouraged to spend 60-90 minutes on daily study in addition to time given in class.  All students are encouraged to participate in the Accelerated Reader (AR) Program as a supplement to our reading curriculum.  Additionally, all Junior High students will be given a summer reading list.

As part of the religion curriculum, the 8th grade students are required to complete a total of 24 hours of service work in the areas of school, Church, home, and community.  Service may include  activities such as assisting at school, church duties, babysitting, community or civic volunteer work, charity work, helping at the local library, etc.  This is done in preparation for their Sacrament of Confirmation in the Spring.

The Honor Society in the Middle School is for 7th and 8th grade students who maintain a 10.0 (A-) overall grade point average over the first three quarters of the school year and meet the additional requirements.
