Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Regional Catholic School focuses on proclaiming the Good News of the risen Lord through teaching Catholic Doctrine, building Christian Community, and helping students acquire skills, virtues and habits required for effective service to others.  We strive to integrate Christ into the moral development of our students lives each day.  Discipline, respect and a spirit of Christ-like charity are promoted as well.

It is through the richness of the Catholic faith, instruction, and sacramental practice that our school teaches the same values that are taught in Christian homes. The moral and social realm of development is an extension of the spiritual life found in the Gospels.  It helps students to embrace our Catholic Identity of being a unique child of God.  Children will prepare to receive the Sacraments of Initiation, First Communion and Confirmation.  Students explore their faith through classes and activities in Sacraments, Scripture and Church.

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Regional Catholic School curriculum includes a program of Religious Education in which all students are required to participate.  The program includes daily religion classes, daily classroom prayer, and attendence at Mass twice each week (depending upon the church calendar and the Pastor’s schedule).  Participation for classes is on a scheduled basis.  Friday Masses are celebrated as special, formal “All School Masses”, as are Holy Day of Obligation Masses, regardless which day they fall on.

The program further includes participation for receiving the Sacraments of the Catholic Church.  However, non-Catholics are not expected to receive these Sacraments.   Catholic students may train to be Altar Servers at Mass in 4th grade for school, parish and funerals. A Server Schedule is prepared monthly to rotate students in grades 5-8.
