Confirmation is the Sacrament of Initiation in which a baptized Catholic, through prayers, receives a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit through the imposition of hands and the anointing with Chrism.  The Sacrament of Confirmation impresses a character which is enriched by the gifts of the Holy Spirit and more perfectly bound to the Church.  It obliges and strengthens them to be witnesses to Christ by word and deed, as well as by spreading and defending the faith.  Preparation for Confirmation is an integal part of the curriculum in the eighth grade at OLMC.  Students will attend two retreats at Camp Ondessonk and they will a complete total of 24 service hours in the areas of home, school, Church and community.  Confirmation is generally held each spring, and conferred by the Bishop.
