Extended Care Information

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School has an Extended Care Program for its students before and after school.  This programs runs from 7-­7:45 a.m. and from 3-­5:30 p.m.  Extended Care is closed on days when Our Lady of Mt. Carmel is not in session.  Students must be pre-­registered as there is a limit, and preference is given to those who need the program full-­time.  If a student needs to be at school earlier that 7:45 a.m. or more than ten minutes after school dismisses, he/she MUST be enrolled in the Extended Care Program.  Contact the Extended Care Coordinator or school office for an application and fees.

If a student needs to be at school after school dismisses, he/she must be enrolled in the Extended Care Program.  If a child is not picked up within ten minutes of school being dismissed, he/she will be sent to Extended Care and the appropriate fees must be paid even if your child is participating in after school activities.  On most days, school dismisses at 3:00 p.m.  Please refer to the school calendar for a list of early dismissal days.


Services  and  Fees:

                 Before school and after school (7:00 -­ 7:45 and 3:00 - 5:30)            $7.00

                 Before school and one hour or less after school                               $6.00

                 After school only (3:00) with pick up after 4:00                                  $5.00 

                 After school only (3:00) with pick up by 4:00                                     $3.00

                 Early dismissals will be an hourly rate of $3.00 per hour per child                                                   


Families with more that one child that are attending the program will receive a discount for options 1, 2, and 3.  The fee for the second child will be reduced by $1.00, the fee for the third child will be reduced by $2.00 and the fee for the fourth child will be reduced by $3.00.

Payment:  Payment is due weekly unless other arrangements have been made.  Checks are to be made out to OLMC Extended Care or OLMC-­EC.  The checks may be given to the classroom teachers, to the school office or Extended Care.  Fees for children that are  “drop-­in” are expected the day the child/children attends.

Closing Time:  Extended Care closed at 5:30.  Failure to pick up your child/children by 5:30 will result in a $1.00 per minute fine which is to be paid when the following week’s fee is paid.

** Habitual late pick up can result in dismissal of your child/children from the program.

Attendance Change:  If the parents/guardians need to change days of attendance, a written request needs to be given in advance to the program coordinator for consideration and approval based on staff/student ratio.

Past Due:  If for any reason your Extended Care account falls behind more than one  month, your child/children will not be allowed to attend Extended Care.  All past due fees must be paid in full before registering your child into this year’s program.

Discipline:  The Extended Care Program utilizes the same philosophy of discipline as OLMC School.
