Meet Miss Carson Burris
Hi! My name is Miss Carson Burris and I teach 2nd Grade at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Regional Catholic School. I have been teaching here since 2020, after graduating from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. I attended OLMC as a student from Kindergarten through 8th Grade, and now have the pleasure of teaching the next generation of students.
I grew up in Energy, Illinois and attended Herrin High School. Therefore, I am both a Crusader and a Tiger at heart. One of my favorite things to do with my family and friends is to watch the Herrin Tiger Basketball Team get a win in HHS Memorial Gym. I have a one-year old puppy named Bear, who is already almost 100 pounds! I enjoy taking walks, playing, and getting ice cream together with him. When I am not watching basketball or playing with my dog, I can be found reading a good book or shopping.
Second Grade is the year where children prepare for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion. It is a privilege to be a part of those important experiences. My goal for the students in my class is that they always feel welcomed, valued, and loved. My hope is that they leave my class feeling confident in not only their academic abilities and social skills, but in their spirituality as well.
I love being an active part of OLMC School and Church communities. It truly feels like a family here!

Meet Mrs. Amy Weaver
My name is Mrs. Amy Weaver and I am a 2nd Grade Teacher at OLMC School. My hometown is East Alton, Illinois. I am a first-year teacher this year, after completing my student teaching last spring. Prior to that, I was a Pre-K Aide for 2 1/2 years and a substitute teacher for three years.
I love being able to help students explore and learn about the world, grow their individual abilities in the classroom, and better comprehend and participate in their Faith.
I am married to Andrew Weaver, and we have three children, Katie (16), Jake (12), and Tessa (8). My oldest daughter graduated from OLMC, and my other two children are currently enrolled here. We also have two dogs, Fig & Frannie, and a cat named Gus.
I like to garden and travel, (especially to the beach). I am also the Assistant Cross Country Coach in the Athletic Program this year at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Regional Catholic School.
